Welcome to the Wildcat family!
The University of Arizona office of Parent & Family Programs is a resource committed to keep you engaged, informed and supported throughout your student's time on campus. We understand that staying connected is vital to their success and to the strength of our Wildcat family. College students experience various stages in their collegiate career, and rely on the support of family members to guide them through these stages. Our goal is to communicate with you regularly so you can be an informed resource for your student.

Is your student a First Cat?
At U of A we define a first-gen student, or First Cat as a student whose parents did not receive a bachelor’s degree. We have more than 10,000 First Cats on campus, and we have programs and resources specific to supporting them through their college journey.
Your student can attend DAZ sessions on navigating campus, understanding their balance and student account, and sessions to help them connect with other students with similar interests. Details can be found on the DAZ portal and schedule.
First-Gen support and programming can be found at the Thrive Center. This year’s programming is sponsored by a generous grant from TIAA and First-Gen Forward.
